Core Drilling 1

Core Drilling

Core drilling technique uses specially designed diamond tipped core bits to cut into any type of aggregate such as concrete, stone, river rock, asphalt, and even solid steal. Core drilling can be a very safe and effective way to create holes in new buildings and/or renovations in occupied spaces without any interruptions in daily activities on the job site and offices.

Core drilling techniques are used when precise circular cuts are needed. Holes of almost any diameter up to 36″ are easily drilled to make openings for plumbing, electrical, and HVAC installations. Holes can be drilled plumb, level, angled and even upside down holes when needed.

Not only can core drilling be used to create perfectly round holes it can also be used to create large square and rectangular openings (walls/floors) deep inside a building. Example: accessibility, noise limitations, space restrictions and overall cleanliness and safety of the project.

Common Applications:

  • Holes for routing cables
  • Placing anchoring bolts
  • Installing load carrying device like dowel bars
  • Core sampling for strength testing
  • HVAC
  • Fire Sprinkler pipes
  • Electrical conduits
  • Sewer lines
  • Drains (counter sinks)
  • Aggregate analysis
  • Floor drains
  • Sewer drains
  • Sewer tie-ins
  • HVAC openings
  • Phone, electrical, cable, and fiber optic openings
  • Handrail and anchor holes
  • Aggregate analysis
